Division of Foreign Affairs (DFA)

   

    The Division of Foreign Affairs (DFA)
is a functional and supportive unit for all internationalization at UTCC, dedicated to enhance dynamic international partnership with institutions and organization worldwide, facilitate immigration service to foreign university members, arrange the reception of foreign visitors and extend special affairs services. Office of International Relations (IRO) is the only sub-unit of DFA and in charge of major services of DFA.
 


Our Services


1) International Partnership Enhancement 

The IRO is designated to facilitate and enhance the establishment of international partnership with universities, educational institutions, governments as well as business agencies locally and global wide.

We support UTCC schools, colleges or offices in accomplishing the partnership agreement -- from the preparation of MOU / agreement paper to the arrangement of MOU signing ceremony.

IRO also maintains and updates a comprehensive database of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and agreement papers made between UTCC and other institutions. The entire MOU lists have constantly been updated and distributed the progress to all schools and concerned units at UTCC biannually (beginning and mid of each calendar year). At present, such information is also available on our website.

2) Visa and Work Permit Service

IRO offers a complete immigration-related services and other international supports to foreign faculty members and students at UTCC. We provide them with extensive consular guidance, preparation of documents and paper work and staff companion to the visa / work permit offices in order to ensure procedural requirements are met.

  • Visa service: for application, change and renewal

  • Work permit service : for application and renewal


3 Reception of Official Foreign Visitors    

We are professional in welcoming and facilitating official international visitors by focusing on the optimum conditions for effective outcomes, pleasant atmosphere and positive image of UTCC as a whole.
Our scope of official reception entails the followings:

  • Work in close collaboration with the related UTCC office, school or college to learn the visiting objective and overall plan of their guests.
     

  • Invite additional concerned UTCC faculty members and/or staff to attend the reception in order to optimize the outcome.
     

  • Liaise directly with the visitors to finalize the schedule, delegation list and meeting agenda.
     

  • Prepare and distribute the official meeting agenda to all concerned parties.
     

  • Participate in and support the meeting by acting as the meeting MC and presenting the overview of UTCC to the first-time visitors.
     

  • Arrange coffee break and/or meal.
     

  • Handle guest souvenirs.
     

  • Manage transportation and/or UTCC campus tour upon request.


 4. Special Affairs Service

DFA also administers some special programs including:

  • English Summer Course Program:

As a department-own initiative, the intensive, short-term English language study in England is organized annually during June or July, aiming to enhance the English proficiency of students in a native English-speaking environment and to instill the lifelong values of English cultural experience and individual responsibility abroad.
